premature decision

ok, so here's the deal...I may have made a premature decision about my life here at camp. yes, it is still rough some days, but for the most part I am enjoying myself. today is the start of the second full week of camp. the campers arrive in about 4 hours and I am, fortunately, still in my PJ's!!! :) love the weekends.

it is becoming a routine now. I am enjoying the new things that I am getting to experience, like teaching archery to 8 and 9 year olds. the excitedment that I see in thier faces when they actually get it is awesome! I got to teach them last week. I am also enjoying just hanging out with them in thier unit times, although that is not very often, I do enjoy it. last week, I also had my first taste of sleeping in a tent, encounters with a raccoon, a drive-in movie, vegemite and 2 snakes that decided it would be best to place themselves within my path of walking. subsequent, to those encounters I now have to take the long way to the staff house and ALWAYS carry a flashlight after about 8:30 p.m. you never know when they will decide to suprise you and make sure your heart still works.

I have taken up running 3x a week with some of the staff, we go about 2.5 miles in the morning and although, I might not make running the whole time, I push myself further and further. the hills and the higher elevation aren't really what this Louisiana girl is used to. :) the running has helped clear my head to some situations that arise during the week and pound out all the frustration that builds from small things.

I didn't think that not being with a church family would be this hard. I have had to rely on my God more than ever before and it has shown me the strength and love that the Lord has placed in my life through Him. all is very exciting and new at the same time. I don't want to be a child in faith anymore, and I want to step out into something new and challenging. luckily, I already have... :)

that is the short synopsis. new developments will come this week and following weekend at the Ino River Festival. stay tuned for more details.

p.s. I just discovered that Bill Gates is no longer the CEO of Microsoft...I am away from civilization!
